So close, that I’ve printed the resignation letter.
And then I found out my Managing Director was on leave.
Then I found out my direct bosses were not in the office.
And then I was off for meeting…
Today was supposed to be the day, when I finally tender. But it simply didn’t happen. It was supposed to happened more than a month ago, but again, it didn’t happen. I’m such a loser, for not having the guts to hand in my resignation letter.
What’s running through my mind, and what’s influencing me are these:
My boss, “When you wake up one day, and drag yourself to work, it’s time to change job.”
Colleague, “As you grow older, it’s no longer about collecting portfolio. The money plays an increasingly huge factor. But at the same time, take into consideration whether the jobscopes are what you want.’
Me,”I want to earn alot of money too, but at the same time, I don’t want to spend my only free time counting money only.”
One of boss,”What the company is not doing is, to match the offer. Even if it’s less than what’s offered, but higher than what’s currently earned, people would stay on, as people are more comfortable with what they know, and not the unknown in the new job.”
Me,”I’m relunctant, what I’m currently offered are very unique and once-a-lifetime projects and experience. And colleagues are great. It’s a rare company that I enjoy. But I suppose it’s the jobscope…”
Colleague,”I have to be happy with your job. Else, there’s no point…”

do you have a new job waiting? or is it just a decision to get out and start looking then?
i have the same feeling as the first statement you’ve quoted. dragging myself to work.. that’s a bad feeling to have.

Take a step back first and ask why the hesitations and what can motivate you in the next job also.

Question: Are you ready for your next big jump in job scope or even pay?
Pen down a positive and negative reasons why you should leave your job and hope it helps

I go by the “When you wake up one day, and drag yourself to work, it’s time to change job.” policy.
Thats when even prospects and money does not motivate me.

There’s has to be some balance between earning tons of money, gaining more experience, building your career portfolio and your personal life! I mean what’s the point of moving high up the corporate ladder but end up not having to drag yourself to work everyday. I guess its a beginning of year is a good time to find something you are passionate about and switch job. If work is play, you won’t find going to work such a chore!
