A conversation

September 21, 2006

Dunno why, but just feel like writing.  Here goes:

“Do you drive?”

“I know how to drive, but I don’t have a car.”

“So you don’t drive.”

“So I don’t drive, yes.  But I know how to drive.”

“But you won’t able to drive me around.”

“Do I need to drive you around?”

“I want to be driven around.”

Silence.

“How much do you earn?”

“Huh?”

“You heard me, how much do you earn?”

“I’m not going to tell you!  We’ve only just met.”

“I’m not rushing things, but I’m not going to take it slow as well.  So, please tell me.”

“I’m not going to tell someone whom I’ve just met an hour ago, how much I earn.”

“We are sitting on the same tables for an hour, that’s close enough for me to ask that.”

“It’s not for me.”

Silence.

“How much do you earn?”

“How can you ask a prostitute that?”

“Why not?”

“Prostitute never tell, they just do.”

“I thought it’s fair for me to ask since you’ve asked.”

“But since you didn’t answer my question, I do not need to answer yours.”

“Okay… But I’m going to ask again, maybe more specifically, how much did you earn tonight before you meet me?”

Silence.

“Enough for the night…”

“Then why are you out still?”

“I’m looking for love.”

“Are you saying that to amuse me?”

“Why is that amusing?  Just because I’m a prostitute, I’m not capable to love?”

“Not so… I mentioned I’m looking for love to you, and you are saying the same thing back to me…”

“Can’t it be a case of… coincidental?”

“Too many concidences lead to suspicion.  Are you following me?”

“Why am I following you?  I don’t see you as a potential client.”

“I remember seeing you somewhere today.”

“I have that kind of familar face.”

“So are you following you?”

“I’m not.”

Silence.

“So are you rich?”

“I’m not going to answer that.  It’s like you asking me how much I make.”

“It’s two different questions.  How much you earn may not reflect on your wealth.”

“You sure ask alot for a prostitute.”

“I’m not one now at this hour.  Remember, I’m a love-seeker now.”

“Don’t say that.”

“I want to say that.  Maybe we are just lovers meant to be and that’s why we are here.”

“I don’t believe in fate.”

“I don’t neither.  I believe in making it happen.”

“That’s why you asking me all those questions?”

“Yes, to find out what’s important to me in a lover.”

“Money and cars?”

“Moneys and cars.  And more.”

“What others?”

“Hmmm, and house?”

“You are a realistic.”

“Everyone should be.  Surviving on hope and love is stupid.”

“So you are not a love-seeker.  You’re security-seeker.”

“If you put it that way, yes I am.”

“You think I’m in the position to provide you security?”

“I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking.”

“And I’m not going to answer.  So are you daring enough to take the risk?”

“You caught me there.  Are you always like that?”

“I like risk, if that’s what you want to know.”

“But I don’t like ambiguity.”

“But that’s what I’m presenting to you.  So do you dare to take the risk?”

“I hate you, and I’m attracted to you right now.”

“So you love to take the gamble I see.”

“…”

And both of them sit silently for the next few minutes before they check into a hotel and have hot sex.

And the next day, the girl wakes up alone, with a few hundreds next to the bed.  She smiles a little as she tuck away the money into her purse side pocket.

I’m a certified alcoholic

September 19, 2006

I hate but to admit, I can’t live without alcohol.  Even after I’ve found a new job, I’m still drinking myself to sleep.  And the beer is not doing me all that good for my body.  I’m getting fatter, and apparently, my blood pressure is getting higher as well.

It will take a lot of determination, or perhaps angel’s right, I need a girl in my life.

FYI, I’m after a girl right now, but I just dunno how to pop the question.

I’ve gone out with her a few times, but I simply can’t bring myself to tell her.  Maybe it’s because it’s been so long since I’ve been in a serious relationship, I forgot how it is…  Maybe I’m scared to be in a relationship.  Maybe…

Tsingtao beer’s new look

September 17, 2006

Tsingtao beer has a new look, but its taste is still as good. Tsingtao beer was started by German settler in China and has since grew as one of the most popular China beer import in the world. I like its smooth and rather light feel and its certainly the best beer for beginners. It has remained as one of my favourite drink of all time…

I’m back

September 14, 2006

after a few relaxing days in Malaysia.  I decided to take a break and went on a ‘holiday’, which included getting myself disconnected from the internet world.

Now, I wanna talk about 2 related things, and then a third related thing.  One, apparently, a video showing the Malaysian police abusing detainees had surfaced.  Two, Dr. M believed that bribery was carried out to ensure his failure to become a delegate of the Kubang Pasu Umno division to the party’s general assembly.

So, these 2 news point to two things: Corruption and cover-ups.  And these two points to one result: Distrust.

These 2 news are just the surface, but I personally think they represent the general perception towards the higher authorities and politicians in Malaysia.  When Abdullah took on the PM position and he voiced his aim to clean up corruptions, that step was taken well by the public.  Why?  Because the public has experienced and seen corruption and don’t like it at all.  But the public is simply helpless, that is until Abdullah made a promise.  But now, after some time Abdullah stepped up, it just doesn’t seem like corruption’s gone or at least been reduced.  The general public is losing faith… slowly but surely.

And then- the 3rd thing- I came to know that a short film on Malaysian police corruption was made.  The filmmaker claimed that it portrayed the general opinion on the police force.  Personally, I think this fella is moving along dangerous ground, but then again, I salute his bravery.  And also, I support him.  The police force responded that such film will tarnish the image of the police force.  OH COME ON!! WAKE UP MALAYSIAN POLICE… YOUR IMAGE HAS BEEN TARNISHED LONG LONG LONG TIME AGO.

MALAYSIAN POLICE, this is what I have to say:  Respect is to be earned, and not demand.  You can demand all you want, all you can… but at the end of the day, it’s gonna be superficial.  If you want the geeral public to respect you, and see you in good lights, strieve to earn that respect.  Be righteous.  Be good.  Get this, I know someone who wanted to join the Malaysian police force ONLY because of this: lucrative bribes.  This person told me that he acknowledged that the basic pay is low, the career advancement is non-existing, BUT the bribe is lucrative…. is just damn lucrative, and that’s what drive him to pursue a ‘career’ in the police force.

So tell me… how I can give my respect having come across such thing?

And yes… the bottle has moved on

September 7, 2006

Nope.. not one of those wanna-shut-down-and-move-on episode.  But job wise.

Yes… I found a new job and I’m going to take it up.  About 2 months back, I lamented that it was time to get a new job, and finally I got one.  I was happy that I secured this job before my probation period with my current company has lapsed.

What can I say? Yippie…
